For her Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear collection showcase, Diane Von Fürstenberg stepped away from the traditional runway show to instead feature an intimate presentation at her NYC home. Mega models of the moment Gigi Hadid , Kendall Jenner , Irina Shayk and Karlie Kloss reclined on lip-shaped sofas and boogied to ‘70’s disco music in glamorous wrap-dresses; but our gaze was hooked on the smokey eye makeup and perfectly arched brows that gave a modern spin to ‘70’s disco makeup.
To create the look that we’re dubbing the “5-minute disco makeover,” Pat McGrath accentuated the crease with dark brown eyeshadow. You can dip a fluffy, round eyeshadow brush into the M.A.C Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Espresso (US $16; AED/SAR 59), sweep it over the eye socket, and trace the natural line of your crease. Line the bottom lid with the shadow for a smoldering, look-at-me effect.
The models’ top and bottom lashes were then coated with several swipes of mascara —four or five, according to McGrath—to open up the peepers. You can opt for a set of Pinky Goat Maya Natural Lashes (US $10; AED/SAR 37) to step the look up a notch. Meanwhile, skin was kept luminous with McGrath opting to highlight the inner corners of the models’ eyes and underneath their brow bones to catch the light. The look was finished with a slick of moisturizing balm on the lips. Try this 5-minute disco makeover before twirling on the dancefloor Friday night.
