Chanel’s Dramatic Smoky Eyes

A Method to the Mania

Once again the master of dramatic and fanciful makeup, Chanel’s global creative director, Peter Philips did not fail to impress at the Couture 2013 show. A blown out smoky eye was created by applying mesh cutout lashes over blurred, black pigment giving an almost feathered effect.

The soft understated peach blush on the apples of the cheeks and the distinct lack of color on lips further emphasized the drama.

International hair maestro, Sam McKnight added to the strategic chaos with an haute manic up do. Playing on the theatrical theme, he used feather, lace and cotton semi- veils to adorn hair and frame each models face with the individual customized pieces channelling a distinctly Victorian feel.
