Despite what many a lip color antagonist may think, red lipstick is a universal classic that completes any party look. Remember, strong lips should be paired with neutral eyes – so a swift lick of accompanying mascara is sufficient.
Choosing the right shade is more about deciding on the end result that you are looking to create, rather than picking the “correct” shade according to your skin tone. Orange-based reds tend to be bright and eye-catching and are therefore more noticeable on fairer complexions. However, this pop of color is less obvious on those with warmer coloring. Blue-based reds and “true reds” suit most complexions and can be used to add a touch of classic, Hollywood glamour.
