First, a note about Alexa

After having opened a salon in Mexico, the self-taught makeup artist moved to New York City in 2005, where her natural talent led her to become the makeup confidant of ladies like Carolina Herrera, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Margherita Missoni, to name a few. By 2006, Rodulfo was on the speed dial of the discerning members of the social elite, to keep them impeccably turned out with just a flick of her makeup brush. Having launched her own line of scented candles, the Alexa Rodulfo Candle Collection, she is now a full-fledged member of the beauty world’s inner circle. We caught up with Rodulfo to talk about her favorite beauty look from New York Fashion Week: the eyebrows at Carolina Herrera! Step 1

The face is prepped and the eyebrows are clean. Begin with the grooming stage and comb the hairs upwards into the desired shape. Then, carefully trim the hairs to ensure that you have a clean line at the top.

Step 2

Using a fine liner, like the M.A.C Eye Brows Pencil (ensure to chose one that matches the color of your eyebrows), draw in the desired shape. Trace one line on the top of the brow and one on the bottom. Then, join the two together with the pencil at the end. Note: to create a more natural finish, never close the inner corners.

Step 3

Blend the lines. Start at the innermost corner of the eyebrow and using a series of short stokes, fill and blend any visible gaps.

Step 4

Outline the shape of your eyebrows with a concealer, both at the top and bottom. This is the real secret to a set of perfect eyebrows, as the contrast makes them look perfectly shaped and also creates a mini lift effect. I like the La Prairie Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing Brightening Eye Treatment. Then, blend it into the skin with a brush.

Step 5

Finish with a clear gel brush. I’m using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel. Start from the inner corners following the shape to the end. This will seal the color and will keep all the hairs in the right place. Model: Kelly Lumi @ DNA
