Jeremy Scott and his Moschino Barbie girls weren’t the only ones thinking pink for Spring 2015: Donatella Versace had an equally rosy outlook on the season (at least as far as maquillage was concerned). “She wanted a hint of pink somewhere on the eyes,” said face painter Pat McGrath. “But it’s not My Little Pony pink.” The opalescent shimmer dusted across models’ lids, cheekbones, and cupid’s bows played off the rhinestone chain mail affixed to dresses, shoes, and chokers, while bold brows (filled in and darkened) mimicked the “graphic patterns” in the clothes.
“Sporty” blow-outs by Guido Palau completed the look. He created volume near the forehead with Redken Guts 10 and a round brush, then raked his fingers—coated in Forceful 23 hair spray—through strands for a “boyish feel” (a move we saw earlier in the week at Gucci). The total package was pretty in pink, but with the “hard edge” that Versace never forgets to bring to the table.
