On hand to receive the Trendsetter Award at the 16th Annual Young Hollywood Awards, Vanessa Hudgens took to the red carpet with a wavy ombre bob. We thought the trend was over and out, but the starlet effortlessly teamed her dip-dyed locks with a Bongo crop top and high-waisted Badgley Mischka pants. The High School Musical star, who recently ditched her long blonde hair extensions in favor of a shorter style, showed off her natural brown hue at the roots, and a pale blonde shade at the ends of her hair. Her tresses had been curled but still had an undone appeal, helping her to maintain her signature “hippie chic” vibe.
To create loose waves like Vanessa’s, go for a tong with a large barrel like the Drybar 3-Day Bender 1.25″ Curling Iron, which seals and smooth’s strands for a longer-lasting curl. Tong one-inch sections of hair, alternating the direction of the curl from time to time to help give an effortless feel.
Once you’ve made your way around your whole head, ruffle your fingers through the lengths of your tresses to help add movement. Take a dry shampoo and spritz sparingly at the roots before rubbing in with your fingers. This will help give a volume boost along with more of a matte texture. Seal your hair in place with hairspray, and then use your hands to scrunch your locks upwards throughout the day to help hold your waves in place.
