Rock Chicks Rule the Runway at Tom Ford

Tom Ford, if you didn’t already know, lives in London and has been showing his collections in the UK capital since 2012. As one of the most anticipated shows during Fashion Week (one that draws the crème de la crème of the fashion pack), we expect glossy, well-groomed models with an air of sophisticated glamour, true to the essence of the fashion house to walk the catwalk. On Monday evening however, Mr. Ford shook up the brand’s beauty image by sending his models down the runway with shaggy hairdos reminiscent of the 1970s—a far cry from his usual poker straight lengths and retro coifs. The hairstyles were crafted by none other than Sam McKnight.

Charlotte Tilbury was heading the makeup station and with American musician, Chrissie Hynde (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrissie_Hynde), as the inspiration, she inked over the models eyelids with a glossy anthracite shadow, brushed up the brows, and opted for a pale, pearlescent Tom Ford Lip Color to complete the look. The result of the polished makeup and fully textured hair created a rich, rock chick appeal. A reminder, if we needed one, that Tom Ford’s girl is always the star, never the groupie.
