I learned a life-changing tip from nail artist Marian Newman backstage at Paris Fashion Week. She told me that when you have a smudged nail, wipe a little nail polish remover onto the affected area with your thumb. The acetone works like a paint stripper to break down the excess polish so, you will be left with a smooth surface to reapply a final coat of the chosen nail color. Once the top coat has dried, with its high shine finish nobody will ever be able to tell the difference.
