Dress Up Your Nails at The Dollhouse

My manicures always stay safely in the realm of neutral nudes and dark burgundies, which is why trying nail art for the first time was a somewhat daunting prospect. Would it look tacky? Would I have to color coordinate my outfit? Are tiny watermelons painted on one’s nails ever a good idea? With such questions swimming around in my head, I ventured into The Dollhouse Dubai with a colleague to try the salon’s nail art manicures. While perusing through a book of vintage fashion illustrations, I realized that nail art is just another way to display your sense of style, your personality, or your mood. Most of all, it’s about having fun.

Prabal Gurung, Delpozo, and Tadashi Shoji—all presented killer nail art with their Spring 2015 collections, displaying subdued or intricate metallic designs that complemented the looks perfectly.

We opted for Kenzo-inspired nail art, with quirky eyes that seemed to follow us wherever we went. However, if crystal-studded nails and faux Chanel logos are your thing, there are plenty of patterns offered at The Dollhouse Dubai to choose from. The skilled manicurists take around two hours to finish the hand-painted design and it is recommended to use several layers of protective varnish to prevent the design from chipping. For those looking to add an extra dash of personality to their look, this is a surefire way to ensure that all eyes are on your nails.
