They say that an image speaks a thousand words and this provocative photograph from the Stella McCartney fragrance campaign, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Pigott, delivers quite the punch.
Supermodel, Lara Stone (and wife of British comedian David Walliams) was chosen by the designer to be the latest face of the fragrance—or should we say mouth, “She is a modern woman who is approachable and sensual at the same time,” said McCartney on the subject of the appointment. Known for her pouty mouth à la Brigitte Bardot and signature gap between her front teeth, Stone is depicted biting down on a miniature version of the Stella McCartney fragrance bottle.
The photograph was revealed at the re-launch of the original Stella McCartney fragrance in Harrods department store in London this week where her signature pretty, amethyst glass bottles were on show.
Accompanying this visual is also an arthouse film clip that shows Stone licking an ice block encasing the perfume bottle, perhaps insinuating that the perfume smells good enough to eat. Set to a soundtrack by the aptly named all-female band, Warpaint, we expect a new legion of fans to discover the fragrance for the second time around.
