Pixie Dust Sparkle at London Fashion Week

@maccosmetics

This is a look that beauty dreams are made of and is to be attempted by only the brave, as loose glitter pigment falling out is not pretty. It can destroy black clothes for good and if you drop the product on the floor, be prepared to see it glitter for months—come rain or shine. Makeup artist, Lucia Pica, created a set of silver glistening eyelids for the House of Holland Spring 2015 show. Done right, the lids become as reflective as mirrors.

Layering and pressing the glitter onto a clear gloss base or a mixing medium will give it something to hold on to and it is the best way to create a uniform effect. Apply the glitter using the eye socket as your boundary—if you start venturing up towards the brows, your look will go from retro cool to the bad side of kooky.

The use of black liquid liner here takes the frosty, Snow Queen look into the more wearable 1960s retro territory.
