Eyeshadow is the beauty item that takes center stage in my minaudière. And as the party season gets underway, eyeshadow palettes are a beauty essential. But with every beauty counter pushing its latest addition to the fore, it’s important to remember not to be blinded by copious amounts of glitter and to sort through the kaleidoscope of colors to find a tonal palette that works for you.
A good place to start is with Dior’s 5 Couleurs Couture Color Eyeshadow Palettes from the Golden Winter Collection. Warm skin tones should opt for 634 Golden Flower and cool skin tones for 644 Golden Snow.
The sophisticated compacts have just the right amount of sparkle and the various hues are ideal to take you from the office to dinner in a hurry. Warning: these are not heavy-duty shadows, but are pigments designed for a more soft focus finish.
How to apply?
Utilize the lighter shades as a highlighter by dabbing them onto the brow bones. You can also line the inner corner of the eye (using the tapered end of the applicator) for a shot of look-at-me metallic. Create a warm wash of color over the lids using the mid tones and play with the darker shadows to accent your eye shape. Blend across the lash lines and well into the eyelid crease for extra definition.
If you are looking for a high-impact finish, wet your application brush before running it over the shadow, for a shot of deeper pigment.
