In case you missed it, bold lips are back for Spring ’15. From bright poppy reds at Missoni and Burberry Prorsum to rich burgundy at Dolce & Gabbana, there are plenty of reasons to stock up on new shades next season. But if you can’t wait quite that long, take a cue from Rooney Mara, who stepped out in a wintry eggplant at this weekend’s Rome Film Festival. A touch of shimmer felt fresh for the city’s springlike temperatures, and a slicked-back bun, bare skin, and a few swipes of mascara completed the easy look. We’re guessing the Trash star spent all of five minutes in the makeup chair, which is just icing on the cake. Consider this your lesson in pared-back beauty that still packs a punch (and keep it in mind next time you’re running late for a party).
