The black and khaki barrettes clipped to models’ sleek, side-parted strands at Rochas are the latest additions to our growing list of coveted hair accessories. The difference between these backstage baubles and the rest of the offerings for Fall ’15? You can actually get your hands on them now. Hair pro Paul Hanlon procured the clip at Delorme, on Passage de l’Industrie in Paris, then sprayed it with a custom-blended matte paint that coordinated with the collection. Designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Hanlon explained, liked the idea of adding a “detail” to models not sporting oversize sunglasses held in place with elastic Croakies straps. “It almost looks like a headband that’s been caught underneath the hair. It’s not really a big gesture, but it just breaks the silhouette a little bit,” said Hanlon. “What’s nice is, because it doesn’t go around the whole perimeter of the hair, only about 70 percent of it, what you’re left with on the sides blows when they walk.” We loved the look so much, we’ve already mapped out how we’re getting to that boutique in the tenth between shows.
