The Dior Homme commercial, featuring former Twilight star, Robert Pattinson and French model, Camille Rowe-Pourcheresse, has been revealed with the pair acting out an on-the-road romance.
Film director, Romain Gavras, known for directing several music videos for singer and songwriter, M.I.A, was personally selected by Pattinson himself as the director for Dior Homme’s new black and white fragrance campaign. Reputed photographer, Nan Goldin, was commissioned as director of photography.
In an official interview for the brand, Robert Pattinson stated that he was fond of Gavras’ energetic and often controversial video clips: “I wanted to work with Romain Gavras for a long time before…I remember bringing up his name and everyone was like, ‘I don’t know about Romain Gavras, maybe it’s a little bit too far out there’…but I wanted to do something different for me. Something very visceral and I think that is kind of Romain’s style. Dior gave us lots of freedom to do whatever we wanted basically.”
“Working with Romain and doing something which is quite mainstream but also edgy fits into where I want my life to go,” added Pattinson, who acts like a rebellious yet charismatic runaway in front of Gavras’ lens.
Romain Gavras, who cast Vincent Cassel, the reputed French actor and face of Dior Homme’s “La Nuit de l’Homme” perfume, is no newbie to the fashion industry. Gavras already directed several video commercials, including two YSL advertisements featuring British model, Jourdan Dunn and French actress, Mélanie Thierry.
