The Beauty Dress Code for Riccardo Tisci’s Birthday

Givenchy’s Artistic Director, Riccardo Tisci, celebrated his 40th birthday with a bang on Friday night and invited his fashion-savvy crowd to celebrate along with him in party town, Ibiza. What makeup does one wear to such a soirée in order to outfox both humid conditions and dancing, you ask? Seemingly red lipstick was the beauty order of the day.

Models, Natasha Poly, Joan Smalls, and Kendall Jenner, all opted for a uniform of slinky black ensembles paired with a slick of red lipstick and seriously straight hair. Tunisian model-turned-actress, Afef Jnifen (a dear friend of Tisci’s) sported a rich scarlet lip shade and her unmistakable mane of corkscrew curls.

With tanned skin tone, one can play with more punchy lip colors and whether you opt for a strawberry, raspberry, or a cherry shade, the one thing you must insist on is the longevity of your lip color. Nothing looks worse than a dry-flaking lip color, or worse still, one that has rubbed off onto your teeth.

To keep your pout in peak condition, use a heavy-duty balm before applying color, then line your lips with a lip liner and shade in the entire pout before applying your chosen lipstick. A light blot with a tissue and reapplication of lipstick should keep your color in check.
