Last year was all about floral headdresses while this year at Alta Moda, we saw haute couture gilded crowns sparkle down the Dolce & Gabbana runway. If you find flowers to be a little too bohemian and tiaras a little much for your daily grind, then switch up your headgear with a ribbon.
At the Honor NYC NYFW Fall 2015 show, hairstylist James Pecis adorned Catherine Deneuve-inspired hairdos with metallic strips of ribbon. One part sixties’ fashion and one part schoolgirl, the outcome was very neatly coiffed hair that won’t be destroyed as soon as the wind blows.
The How-To:
Blow-dry your lengths straight and create a little under curl at the very ends to add movement.
Backcomb the top section of your hair right at the roots.
Pin the top section, creating a little Brigitte Bardot-bouffant, and secure with bobby pins (that match your hair color) or even use a barrette clip for a sleeker finish.
Lastly, tie a ribbon in place of a headband—et voilà.
