Philosophy Wants You Fresh-Faced

Here at Style.com/Arabia headquarters we have an ever-growing fondness for Philosophy skincare. It appears that Philosophy has an antidote to every skin complaint—whether it’s dry eyelids from wearing copious amounts of glitter; hyperpigmentation; stress-induced breakouts; computer-glazed, puffy eyes; or anything in between. With Fall 2014 fashion season well underway, it means 8am backstage show calls and midnight deadlines, so there’s no time for your skin to let you down.

Move over, at-home microdermabrasion—this is an exfoliating duo with extra muscle. The Philosophy Resurface Microdelivery Dual-Phase Peel is a two-step-program that targets dead skin cells that can make the epidermis appear dull and lifeless. The first step is the application of the vitamin C peptide resurfacing crystals. Lightly buff the crystals into your skin using circular movements concentrating on the T-zone, making sure to avoid the eye contour area. Once you have worked these thoroughly into the epidermis, apply a measure of the salicylic acid activating gel. As you buff it over the crystals, you will witness it start to foam as the active ingredients get to work acting like a mild peel, stripping away the outer layers of the epidermis.

Once the prescribed three minutes is up, rinse your face with warm water and pat it dry. Before you head out, remember to apply a good layer of SPF 30, as your skin will be more susceptible to the sun’s UV rays. This product is akin to a professional facial in just three minutes. Using it twice weekly, I have ditched heavy-duty foundation for a tinted moisturizer, with only a dabbing of concealer on weekends. Enough said.
