10 Best Beauty Looks From the Oscars 2016

The Oscars 2016 red carpet saw its fair share of classic updos and polished makeup, but the evening’s best beauty looks tinkered with conventionality. Brie Larson, who scooped up the Best Actress award for her star-making role in Room, pulled the front section of her well-coiffed tresses back and secured them in place with a shimmering hair adornment that matched her royal blue, embellished Gucci gown.

Olivia Wilde stepped out with her chocolate tresses twisted into a slightly undone braided chignon, while the always-bold Rooney Mara opted for a futuristic triple bun and a vampy pout. Best supporting actress nominee, Alicia Vikander wore a hun with soft, loose waves and sun-kissed skin that complimented her canary-yellow Louis Vuitton number.

Nominated for her role in Joy, Jenifer Lawrence led the smokey eye pack, which included Sofia Vergara and Olivia Munn, who both opted to pair their smoldering peepers with a swipe of bold, scene-stealing lipstick. Moms-to-be, Emily Blunt and Chrissy Teigen made a case for the classic smokey eye and nude lip combo. While Blunt let her soft tendrils graze her collarbone, Teigen pulled her mane back into a simple, romantic braid that matched her embroidered Marchesa dress.

Meanwhile, Margot Robbie swapped her usual bold lip and eye for a barely-there makeup look and soft waves, which she parted down the center.
