Few things excite us more than when a budget beauty product really delivers results. Enter the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Finish (US $22; AED/SAR 79), a lipstick and lip gloss hybrid that comes in four new shades. The most apt for this time of year is the 09 in Happy Nude Year.
As you glide the wand over your lips, you are left with a highly pigmented rose-tinted nude stain that has a plush matte finish. The best part is that the formula isn’t drying, so there will be no lipstick flaking come midnight. Bourjois says that the product lasts for 24 hours, and during my trial, it stayed put during dinner and right through to dessert with no issues. Once applied, the feather-light texture is almost undetectable, so for those who detest the feeling of suffocated lips under copious amounts of gloss, this is the one for you.
Only two inches in height, this little product will fit into any fancy New Year’s Eve arm candy. New shades will be available in January 2015.
