Seeing Double at Dior

Yesterday, at the unveiling of the Christian Dior Cruise 2015 show, we saw makeup maestro Peter Philips curate his first runway show for the fashion house. The newly appointed Creative and Image Director of Makeup for Christian Dior made his debut with a bold double-lined eye. The monochromatic look saw a black, liquid eyeliner traced close to the lash line, ending in a feline flick at the outer corner of the eye, angled slightly upwards towards the end of the eyebrow.

A white kohl eyeliner lined the water rim of the lower lashes and halfway along, a black kohl pencil was traced outwards resulting in a two forked liner at the outer corners.  A strip of false lashes was added to give a serious flutter effect and ensure that the eyes remained the true focal point. The look was finished with an ivory/nude matte eyeshadow washed over the lid and taken right up to the filled-in brows.

A creamy but matte complexion was given a hint of warmth with a pale pink blusher applied to the apples of the cheeks. Playing with texture, the lips were left nude with just a dabbing of gloss to catch the light.

The models’ hair was left long and loose, with hairstylist Guido Palau opting to keep them slinky straight with a prim center parting.
