BareMinerals might be best known for its powder formulas (which caused many to board the mineral bandwagon and swirl, tap, and buff their way to complexion perfection), but the brand’s new BareSkin (liquid!) foundation is one of the best I’ve tried in a while. While the thin, featherweight fluid may bear a passing resemblance to a pricier option currently on the market from a certain Italian fashion house, BareSkin stands alone. Boasting a dreamy satin finish, the formula is buildable, so you can dial-up from sheer to full coverage (two drops, perfect on my skin, are suggested for the former, six for the latter). Not only does the finish look good, it does good: Jojoba-coated mineral pigments suspended in a coconut base offer a light veil of hydration, and broad spectrum SPF 20 protects, while vitamin C and lilac stem cells brighten dull complexions; those with sensitive skins can rejoice—there’s no silicone in sight. Though the design of the accompanying brush may seem a bit gimmicky, its silky synthetic bristles boast a reservoir that makes already-easy application a breeze. Squeeze a few drops of foundation into the center and buff away for a seamless, streak-free application. And with twenty shades, from my pallor’s perfect match (Bare Porcelain) to rich, deep hues (Bare Mocha), BareSkin’s going to delight a plethora of people.
