M.A.C’s Punk Couture Eyeshadow Pigment

856aefb3fa59a3459f2c87b8cc8e1b25With Radiant Orchid pitched as the pantone color of the year, the beauty set are all prepped and ready to embrace some seriously bright alternative hues.

The Spring 2014 runways were awash with color, with fuchsia, yellow, and blue eyelids spotted at MM6 Maison Margiela and hot-pink streaked cheeks (by Gucci Westman) on the catwalk for Assembly. At Prabal Gurung, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury opted for “a twist on a modern mannequin look,” with vivid candy coated lips with a powdery matte finish.

Makeup pioneer M.A.C has created a set of three pigment pots for its Punk Couture collection that are just about bright enough to make your eyes water. Enter True Chartreuse, Neo-Orange, and Magenta Madness. These highly concentrated, loose pigments allow you to control the depth of color depending on your method of application. One sweep with a dry eyeshadow brush (and a light hand) provides a fine veil of the sugary shade. Layered atop a slick of clear gloss, the powder transforms into a flash of color comparable to a vivid highlighter.

This multipurpose makeup product can also be used to transform your pout in a matter of seconds. Press a little of the Magenta or Neo-Orange pigment over the top of your chosen lipstick and you will have a set of spotlight-worthy lips that command attention.
