A Guide to Reef Hashem’s Regal Bridal Look

Malek Mikati, the son of former Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, married Reef Hashem at a luxurious wedding ceremony in Marrakech’s El Badi Palace and even amid all the glitz and glamour of the A-list event, the bride’s flawless makeup (coupled with her stunning gown) ensured that she was not upstaged.

Hashem looked regal in a fairytale dress designed by Lebanese designer Elie Saab. Her chocolate brown locks were tucked beneath a pearl-encrusted headpiece and she wore pearl-drop earrings to complement her embroidered gown. For the beauty look, she opted for soft smoky eyes, bold eyebrows, and nude, pink lips. Meanwhile, her cheeks were highlighted and bronzed to create a radiant complexion.

Follow our step-by-step guide below to create her “Arabian princess” look.

For the Face

Prep the face with a long-lasting primer, such as the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (US $52; AED/SAR 191), to ensure that makeup stays in place. For the foundation, opt for a matte formula without SPF to avoid shine. The Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (US $48; AED/SAR 176) works well in photos. Next, define your face by contouring and highlighting using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (US $40; AED/SAR 147). It contains six easy-to-blend formulas , which are ideal for sculpting your features. Using a flat makeup brush, apply a strip of the “java” or “Havana” shade to your lower cheekbones, along your hairline, down the sides of your nose, and on the bottom of your chin.

Use one of the lighter shades, such as “banana” or” sand,” and apply above the cheekbones, on the middle of the forehead, down the nose, and on your Cupid’s bow. Blend the markings using a beauty blender.

For the Eyes

Prep your eyelids with the Urban Decay Primer Potion (US $20; AED/SAR 73) before applying the shadow. The Urban Decay Naked 2 (US $54; AED/SAR 198) palette is ideal for creating a soft, smoky eye. Make sure to use a lighter color for the base and a dark, matte black or brown shade on the crease and blend it into the outer corner of your eye. Add a shimmery shade to the inner corner of your eye before applying a thick layer of black eyeliner. Enhance your eyes with a set of false eyelashes and two coats of mascara.

For the Lips

Trace your lip line with a lip liner one shade warmer than your natural lip color. Complete the look with a neutral sheer lipstick and top it off with a rose gloss.
