As if the futuristic pods of gloss and silver spheres of highlighter in the Courrèges collection for Estée Lauder weren’t enticing enough, today the beauty company released a new video starring Instagirl Kendall Jenner. Vinyl pink lips (Super Gloss in Rosy Future) and pewter lids (Eye Glide Pencil in Silver Streak) tempered by matte aubergine nails look just as fresh on the catwalker as they did during the ’60s Space Age, when the French house rose to prominence. The designer, André Courrèges, was an engineer before apprenticing for Cristóbal Balenciaga, hence his mastery of bold, gravity-defying shapes—a signature now reflected in Estée Lauder’s innovative packaging. Frédéric Torloting, co-owner of the fashion brand, said at a party in Paris celebrating the cosmetic collaboration, “The Space Age is back because people want to dream again.” And if Jenner and the brand have anything to do with it, they’ll want to dream in full-on intergalactic color.
