Earlier this week, actress Keira Knightley opted for a punchy pink lipstick for the New York premiere of her new movie, The Imitation Game. A far cry from her fail-safe nude lip, the shot of color works beautifully to lift her complexion and perfectly complements her glossy brown locks.
Her makeup artist for the red carpet event, Kara YoshimotoBua, revealed the inspiration on Instagram behind Knightley’s nighttime look.

The dusty pinks and smoky shades of the Chanel beauty kit work beautifully with the kohl-lined eyelids. The look is anchored with rosy cheeks, which act to sculpt a lifted set of cheekbones.
Top tip:
Apply blusher directly to the apples of the cheeks and up to the temples for a fresh and youthful look, not underneath the cheekbone where you would when contouring.
