Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime performance included a giant chrome lion, dancing sharks, and, as expected, fireworks. But theatrics aside, all eyes were on Perry, who ran through 12-plus minutes of hits wearing custom-designed looks by Jeremy Scott. (Check out our exclusive interview with the designer here.)
Scott shared a candid snap of the singer just moments before she hit the stage on Instagram with the caption, “LAST MIN PONYTAIL PREPARATIONS…” (See? Pop stars are just like us, prepping until the very last minute.) But that wasn’t the only thing on Perry and her stylists’ minds. With most of America watching, HD-worthy makeup was a must—and Perry’s signature cherry pout and glittery eyes definitely made a statement.
For a classic red lip that packs a punch, makeup artist Jake Bailey outlined Perry’s lips with CoverGirl LipPerfection Lip Liner in Hot, and finished with a swipe of CoverGirl Colorlicious Lipstick in Seduce Scarlet for a “classic Katy look.” For an easy way to re-create Perry’s striking lid look, go with a dramatic cream shadow like Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Cream in Silver, add a flick of cat-eye liner, and finish with several coats of mascara. Pyrotechnics optional.
