Make Me Flutter

Huda-Beauty-Eyelashes-3

With lashes firmly on the beauty radar this Spring, as seen on the runway at Carolina Herrera, Jean Pierre Braganza, and Zac Posen, it’s high time we talk strip lashes. If you’re on the search for a Twiggy-esque set of full, eye-catching eyelashes, then Dubai beauty blogger Huda Kattan has her own line of lash sets for you to peruse. Launched in February of last year, the Huda Beauty Eyelashes come in five different shapes and have sold out at Sephora on numerous occasions.

For the false lash beginner, Kattan suggests the Giselle lashes as the best starting point, noting, “These are my favorite pair and they’re named after my daughter.”

How to apply:

Gently remove the lashes from their packet by pressing them away from their holders; use the pad of your fingertips and never the nails.

Trim the outside end of the lashes to fit the length of your lash line—this makes for the most natural result.

Apply the glue in the thinnest layer onto the false lashes and wait for fifteen seconds for it to dry. When the glue becomes a little tacky, the lashes are ready to be applied.

Using tweezers, lay the lashes directly on top of your very own, and then press down.

Once in place, trace over the lash line with a liquid eyeliner and add a slick of mascara through your own lashes and the fake set. This will bond them together for extra support.

Keen to explore further, we set up a testing zone at the Style.com/Arabia beauty desk. But after applying the newly launched Huda Beauty Waterproof Lash Glue, which is a black adhesive, some of the participating ladies’ eyelids ended up looking a little too oil slicked for our liking. So, for the false lash novices I suggest opting for the Duo adhesive glue, which goes on white and then dries clear, leaving only practiced eyelash pros to opt for Kattan’s latest black formula. The key here is to apply the smallest measure of glue—too much and you’ll find yourself in the danger zone.

With whispers that Kattan is launching a nail line imminently, we’re awaiting to see what this beauty has in store next.
