Having just moved to a new house, I’m on a quest to make my new abode a home, and the importance of scent here should not be overlooked. So, I went in search of the perfect candle. I must have tested nearly 100 different candles: all the usual suspects, from Jo Malone, to Penhaligon’s, Diptyque, and Acqua Di Parma. I eventually settled on the L’Artisan Parfumeur Paris Scented Candle in L’Été from The Grasse Collection—quite possibly the prettiest candle I’ve ever seen, with its distressed pewter shell complete with pink embossed label.
Taking pride of place on my bookshelf, it omits a delicious sparkling scent of jasmine, neroli and lemon—a reminder of summer days. I’m saving up to buy the large 1.5kg version to make it the centerpiece of my dining table. And with over 100 hours of burning time, it will make a great addition to my next dinner party (and then some).
