Glasses are generally reserved for weekends spent at home, but thanks to Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele, oversized, chic geek glasses are officially runway approved. Gucci models paraded down the Fall 2016 RTW runway sporting oversized specs, which were first spotted on the Spring 2016 runway , while the vintage frames were paired with low-maintenance, barely-there makeup. Give the look a try by rolling out of bed on a Saturday morning and twisting your coils into a messy chignon before slipping on a pair of face-framers.
Makeup maestro Pat McGrath showed us the simplest way to incorporate geek chic glasses into our daily beauty routine. For a fresh complexion, McGrath buffed the Gucci Lustrous Glow Foundation (US $65; AED/SAR 239) on the face and then set it with a finishing powder. Next, a hint of peach Gucci Sheer Blushing Powder in Coral Flower (US $49; AED/SAR 180) was daubed on the apples of the cheeks for a healthy flush. For this look, eyeliner is deemed redundant so instead, opt for a few coats of mascara and a very subtle wash of eyeshadow. Lips at Gucci were kept bare, or paired with a slick of matte red lipstick to create a look-at-me effect.
