When Tom Ford launched his limited-edition line of 50 pinkie-size lipsticks on Black Friday, the gold hue (Rory) was the shade I gravitated toward first. I’m not exactly the type to wear a full-on metallic mouth, but I figured I’d dab a little in the center to act as a festive highlight during the holiday season. Fast-forward to July and the designer’s Fall 2015 campaign featuring model Ondria Hardin, and I’m ready to layer it on thick. Flashier than nude, but just as neutral—gold is guaranteed to play well with fur, denim, and shoulder-grazing earrings come September but also accentuates a subtle summer glow right now. The only issue: Will my tiny tube make it until then?
