From Inspiration to Illumination

“To love beauty is to see light.” —Victor Hugo

Inspired by Liu, the classic Oriental fragrance; Guerlain presents their magical Liu makeup collection for the holiday season. In 1929, Jacques Guerlain composed Liu as an ode to the mysteries of the Orient. A combination of fragrant florals and balmy aldehydes evoke the unique nature of Shanghai at the turn of the century. Bewitching gold mists, sharply defined tapered eyes, and blood-red mouths add mystery to Asian refinement. LIU Perfumed Shimmer Powder swathes the face, body, and hair in an iridescent, golden halo fragranced with luminous aldehydes, fresh roses with a base of vanilla and iris, and woody notes.

The elegantly designed Eye and Lip Calligraphy Palette combines two shades of red, three glittering eye shadows, and a matte black powder liner that can be used wet or dry.

The complexion is enhanced with a harmony of six different shades from white, to pink, to beige, with the Météorites Perles du Dragon beads and the Météorites Wulong compressed powder.

Lips and nails are decorated to match in limited edition antique gold or stunning plum.

For easy eyeliner application, take a small mirror and hold it near your chest, just under the nose. Looking down into the mirror, apply your liner in three steps. Starting at the inner corner of the eye and as close as possible to the lashes, carefully draw a line to the middle of the eye. Rest a moment and continue to the end of the lash line. Take the brush away from the eye again and finish by defining the outer corner, extending the line as required.
