Founded by Aliza Jabès, NUXE is a French beauty brand with a cult following. It is renowned for its NUXE Huile Prodigieuse, a best-selling, multi-purpose dry oil that nourishes limbs and tresses without leaving behind the ghastly film that other oils have that then transfers onto your pretty silk summer dresses.
To me, this dry oil encapsulates the scent of summer. Whenever I smell it, I’m mentally transported to the dreamy coves of Capri. And now, the brand has launched the NUXE Prodigieux Le Parfum with faithful clientele (like me) in mind. Top notes of bergamot and mandarin give way to gardenia and magnolia, and on the dry down you are left with what can only be described as something reminiscent of vanilla and coconut—a decidedly beachy vibe.
Interestingly, the perfumer, Serge Majoullier (the nose behind the scent of the Huile Prodigieuse multipurpose oil), states that, “usually you start with a fragrance that you adapt to cosmetics. Here, the challenge was to turn the oil’s fragrance into its own perfume.” I’ve spritzed this new scent all morning, leading my colleague to tell me, “spray it as much as you like, but just don’t drink it.”
At AED 249 for a 50ml glass bottle, this one might be taking up permanent residency in my beach bag.
