Glitter-encrusted eyelids and patent pink pouts—there’s nothing more party girl than this look from the Tahir Sultan Spring 2015 show at Fashion Forward. Backstage, the models’ eyelids were nothing short of bedazzling, and so you can imagine how they danced under the runway spotlight.
Key makeup artist Melanie Flores tells me that to get the glitter to stay put, she used a slick of the M.A.C Mixing Medium Eyeliner on dry eyelids and then dipped her eyeshadow brush into the M.A.C Glitter in 3D Silver and pressed it onto the eyelids in a couple of layers to saturate the sockets with the iridescent flecks. The models’ pouts were dressed in M.A.C Lipstick in Candy Yum-Yum, then their lips were defined with Brush #316 and finished with a little M.A.C Tinted Lipglass in Pink Poodle.
Topped with a slightly bouffant, oversized bun, the look became more retro, tongue-in-cheek-pretty rather than party girl Paris Hilton—phew. But don’t dare to rock this look over, say, the age thirty-three threshold (unless you look like a 28 year-old) as nothing is worse than the glitter gracing your laughter lines.
