One cannot deny the nourishing nature of oils, not only for our tresses, but for our skin as well. Aside from providing deep hydration, facial oils contain anti-aging and skin-plumping benefits. But many women, especially those with oily skin, resist using them for fear of creating a breeding ground for acne.
French beauty house Lancôme has found a middle ground with its newest addition to the luxe Absolue L’Extrait range; the Absolue L’Extrait Ultimate Essence is a face plumping formula that boasts the sensorial benefits of facial oil.
Packaged in a rich gold bottle and topped with a sleek gilded cap, it houses a multitude of nourishing and plump-boosting ingredients. Its secret is a high dosage of humectants combined in an emulsified gel texture.
The Ultimate Essence is weightless on the fingers and feels similar to oil; it glides on the skin with ease, leaving it more radiant as well as smooth, but without any greasy or sticky residue.
We tested an intimate and luxurious Lancôme Absolue L’Extrait facial at the Ritz Carlton, Dubai. The relaxing treatment began with a shoulder and foot massage and was followed by a thorough cleansing. The Absolue L’Extrait Ultimate Rejuvenating Elixir (US $360; AED/SAR 1,322) was then massaged on the face to regenerate the dermis. The procedure was completed with a special rose water treatment that combined hot and cold temperatures in order to re-activate circulation and rejuvenate tired skin. The final result was an instantly brighter and fresh face.
The Absolue L’Extrait Ultimate Essence is available at Lancôme retailers.
