Joining the ranks of American singer Selena Gomez, 2014’s top earning model Gisele Bündchen, and Lebanese presenter Diala Makki is Emirati crooner Balqees Fathi, who was named the new face of Pantene. The talented singer of Yemeni descent shared the news on Sunday night during a lavish dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in Dubai.
“I’m so honored to be a part of a brand that encourages young women to overcome obstacles and meet their potential,” said the 27-year-old, who wore a black embellished, high neckline dress with slit sleeves for the occasion.
The Mabrouk singer was chosen by the brand largely due to her philanthropic endeavors, such as being involved in charities that aid Yemeni refugees in Djibouti, and for fronting campaigns that create awareness about domestic violence in the region.
It will be interesting to see how much shampoo the brunette beauty is going to help sell, but in the meantime, the star is doing the brand proud with her shiny and bouncy waist-skimming tresses and her charitable endeavors.
