Dolce & Gabbana’s Best Hair Accessories Through the Seasons

There are several things you can count on seeing on a Dolce & Gabbana runway: bustiers; lace; florals; and a visibly Italian, often specifically Sicilian, influence. Oh, and hair accessories. The models’ heads are very rarely left unadorned. This tradition of ornamental toppers has continued for nearly a decade. Noticeably, it seemed to kick off in Spring ’06 with a couple of catwalkers sporting scarlet-colored feather skullcaps, which we argue are more hairpiece than hat. And most recently at the alta moda show, couture looks were capped with what appeared to be lush little gardens or a gilded oversize tiara. It inspired us to look through Dolce & Gabbana’s past collections and pick out our favorite hairpieces through the seasons, from turbans fashioned out of gloves to signorina funereal veils to over-the-top, opulent headphones.
