Short Story: Coco Rocha’s New Hairstyle

 rocha crop

As if Beyoncé’s big chop wasn’t enough to set the social-media world on fire, now Coco Rocha has one-upped Mrs. Carter by live tweeting the entire process of her pixie cut for Allure. “With my job, my hair is constantly dyed and fried, and it won’t grow any longer, so I decided it was time to get rid of it,” she told the glossy. Tilda Swinton served as the model’s muse, and hairstylist Anh Co Tran was the one wielding the scissors (with the exception of her husband, James Conran, who made the first snip). After lopping off three long ponytails, Rocha decided to go even shorter on the sides—resulting in a rebellious red swoosh on top. The newly cropped ginger is heading into the impending Spring 2014 season (along with the likes of Lindsey Wixson and Constance Jablonski) with far less weight on her shoulders—and we can’t wait to see her new signature style up close and personal in just a few weeks.
