The Trick
These days, it would appear that in the ever-developing, fast-paced world of beauty, products with only one function no longer cut it. Mascaras do not only thicken and lengthen lashes, but also make them grow; foundations are fortified with antioxidants that even skin tones and protect from aging. This Spring, Clarins adds to the list of multi-tasking products with the introduction of Rouge Eclat Satin Finish, a lipstick that helps resist the effects of time. It contains the Nutri-Youth Complex, combining jojoba, sunflower, mimosa, black wattle, and cocoa to nourish and moisturize skin and boost collagen to fight fine lines.
As with all Clarins lipsticks, the 15 shades of the new formula lip color are subtly scented with red fruits, black currants, and licorice.
For the rest of the makeup for the Spring collection, the iris flower takes center stage and is embossed on the Palette Eclat face palette and the limited edition Ombre Minérale 4 Couleurs Long Lasting eyeshadow.
The Tip
The older you are, the “creamier” your lips should be. If you suffer from fine lines around the lips, avoid drying matte textures and “wet-look” glosses that can feather and bleed outside the lip line.
For flawless lip color, start by buffing wet lips with a soft toothbrush and then apply a little lip balm or petroleum jelly. Next, define and fill in lips with a neutral lip liner, and finally, apply your preferred shade of lipstick with a fine brush. Blot lips with a tissue and repeat to make your color last as long as possible.
