Candy Shades for Spring

“The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most.” –John Ruskin

The Trick

There are few things more fun than playing with makeup and never more so than in Spring when collections take on kaleidoscopic hues. Never failing as a reliable source for rainbow cosmetics, Sephora presents the Pastel Pop collection for Spring 2013. Candy shop colors in incandescent shades add a pop to eyes with powdery eyeshadows and sparkling topcoats. Lips are painted with juicy raspberry and citrus orange and fruity lacquers are offered for nails all in fun, striped packaging.

Our personal favorite at the beauty desk is the new Color Adapt Blush, which comes in the form of a smooth stick enriched with açai and cherry extracts and safflower seed oil to give the skin a plumped appearance (which we’ve been doubling up as a lip color).

The Tip

Cheek colors in cream or gloss formulas are a great way to get a natural, fresh-faced flush that lasts throughout the day. They can be worn alone or under a powder for a doll-like glow. Layer it up if you prefer intense blush but be sure to blend well up towards the edges of the face.
