Burberry Prorsum is the one London fashion week constant. You won’t find a boldly different inspiration each season, nor will you find outrageous hair and makeup. Instead, what you will find is the “Burberry Girl”—she’s the same come Spring or Fall, albeit with the odd tweak, but she is always beautiful.
Face painter Wendy Rowe applied Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base to lend warmth and radiance to complexions. Then she used her trademark contouring technique and Light Glow in Earthy Blush to sculpt the hollows of the cheeks, temples, and jawline. Lids received the same treatment with powder a shade or two darker than each model’s skin tone. The focus of the look, however, was a crimson pout. “Red lipstick can look quite classic, but if you wear it with sun-warmed skin and very simple makeup on the eyes, it suddenly becomes something modern,” explained Rowe. The makeup artist expertly lined lips with Lip Definer in Brick Red before filling in pouts with Lip Cover in Ruby. To absorb any shine, the pro placed a single ply of tissue over models’ mouths and lightly dusted it with translucent powder. “This gives a lovely velvet finish, but will also make [the color] last,” she noted. A good thing, seeing as sneakers and sandals worn with dresses indicate that the Burberry Girl is in for a long night of dancing.
For those who want to impulse buy, Burberry is one of the first beauty brands to offer its Spring ’15 nail color trios via Tweet Purchasing. Get the lacquers worn on the runway by Jourdan Dunn, Suki Waterhouse, and Malaika Firth on your fingertips—fast.
