If the captivating beauty trends spotted at the Fall 2016 RTW shows are any indication, then a bold, red lip is set for a major takeover in the months ahead. From vermilion hues to bloodstained pouts, vampy red lips are dominating the runways this season, and we aren’t surprised. Who can resist washes of eye-catching red hues?
Across the pond, models at Sibling sported scene-stealing ruby pouts that flawlessly matched their crimson manicures, while at Mary Katrantzou, the models’ lips were perfectly painted with a slick of attention-grabbing, wine red lip lacquer that made a bold statement against their otherwise bare complexions. Back at the grandiose Free Masons’ Hall in Covent Garden, Gareth Pugh’s models walked down the runway toting high-impact glossy, rouge-noir lips that served to emphasize the catwalkers sharply drawn on cheekbones. The trend continued to gain momentum at Roksanda and Pringle of Scotland, where vibrant, electric red pouts rendered any traces of makeup unnecessary, because sometimes all you really need to make a statement is a bold, red lip.
