Keeping your body in check is hard work. After a series of dry body brushing, sugar polish, firming lotion, and anti-fatigue leg gels,followed by a fat-busting body cream, it is all rather exhausting. Frankly, I don’t have the time (or patience) for this set of bathroom theatrics, and so I’ve been on the lookout for a one-stop-shop beauty product that does it all.
Green Bar is a beauty brand native to Bahrain, founded by the green goddess herself, Reem Al Khalifa. Her glossy locks and flawless skin alone are a testament to her work. The Apricot & Grapefruit Body Oil is a particular favorite of mine and is the debut product from Al Khalifa’s skincare line.
The cold pressed botanical oil (heat can hinder the effectiveness of the ingredients) is served in a retro brown glass bottle for protection from UV rays and is a work of pure alchemy.
Inspired by the inhabitants of Pakistan’s Hunza Valley, who use organic oils as a part of their daily regimen, Al Khalifa researched the effects of the oleic acid from apricots. These oils act like a shot of moisture for the skin.
Next up is the grapefruit, a citrus powerhouse. Not only does the fragrance lift your mood and put a spring in your step, it also works to encourage lymphatic drainage and in turn helps to prevent the formation of embedded cellulite and stretch marks. This oil will make for a thoughtful baby shower gift for every mother-to-be.
How to apply?
After your nightly soak, slick a few pumps of this liquid over your skin while it’s still damp. Make sure to massage it well into problem areas like the tops of the thighs and let it lock in the moisture. When you wake, a set of glistening limbs will be the beauty order of the day.
