Clad in rose petal skirts and tulle drapes by designer Ezra Santos at Fashion Forward season 5, the models walked down the runway wearing eye makeup that glistened from afar. At first glance, it appeared that the models had donned accentuated, sparkly eyeshadow, but closer inspection revealed that their eyes were adorned with false, crystal-encrusted lashes.
A slick of thick, black eyeliner on the eyelids and gold paint on the eyebrows completed the look while the rest of the face was left bare in contrast. The reflection from the crystals dancing on the models’ eyelids created a breathtaking twinkling effect that reminded us of a starry sky—and put us in the mood to create a sparkly set of eyelids of our own.
Those who wish to take a less theatrical route can create a similar look by opting for a metallic cream shadow or, if feeling crafty, can apply gold glitter onto the lids by either using a damp makeup brush or pressing it on top of an eyeshadow until the desired level of sparkle is achieved.
