“It’s the first time we didn’t have to create skincare within a [profit] margin. We could put all the money in the bottle. We didn’t care what it cost because all we wanted was results.”
—Liz Edlich, Co-Creator of Radical Skincare
Liz and Rachel Edlich grew up surrounded by the power of science. With their father being a distinguished Professor of Plastic Surgery and Professor of Biomedical Engineering, the sisters were no strangers to the lure of the laboratory. In their mid-forties, both Liz and Rachel were on the quest to find a skincare product that really tackled anti-ageing, but was still gentle enough for the most sensitive skins. They set about to create their own formula with the help of a hand-selected group of scientists.
Enter the star product of their anti-ageing line, the Radical Skincare Anti Ageing Restorative Moisture Cream. This potion, packed full of anti-oxidants in their purest form, was designed to give the highest level of protection from free radicals that cause the skin to age. Most importantly, the combination of ingredients did not aggravate Rachel’s rosacea, and even had a calming and soothing effect that would eventually help clear her complexion.
On a recent visit to Dubai, Liz told me that the percentage of anti-oxidants present within their cream far exceeds that of other beauty counter brands because money was not a factor when they were creating the product.
When Liz started to use the cream, her friends (Melanie Griffith included) would remark on how healthy her skin looked, and when she confided that it was a product that she and her sister had developed, they wanted to try it, too. It was through word of mouth and handing out clinical jars of their formula that their Radical Skincare brand first gained notoriety. Although their intention was never to sell, their full-fledged line of skincare is now stocked in multiple stores across the globe.
