Whether your goal is a flatter stomach or brighter eyes, there are certain key foods that you should keep in mind. The avocado is a true superhero of a fruit, as it nourishes the skin and hair from the inside out; consequently, it’s often used in DIY face and hair masks for its hydrating and moisturizing properties. With high levels of potassium, oleic acid, and vitamins B, E, and K, the most nutrient-rich part of the avocado is the deeper green layer just below the outer skin.

Lily’s Organics has an avocado recipe that will help you boost the levels of hydration for both your face and hair.

The Ingredients:
½ ripe avocado
1 egg (unless you are vegan)
1 tablespoon Greek yoghurt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon coconut oil

The Method:
Mash up the avocado into a mixing bowl, ensuring that all of the darker green flesh is used. Fold in the egg and Greek yoghurt before sprinkling in the baking soda and folding in the coconut oil. Mix together and apply to your face, avoiding the eye area. Remove the mask with warm water before it dries and do not attempt to store the mixture. If there is any left over, massage it into the ends of your hair to help remedy split ends.
