This fresh-faced beauty is all sparkling blue eyes and flawless skin, topped off with a new bouncy crop. In fact, Jammal has an uncanny resemblance to a young Natalie Wood (Maria in Westside Story). Having first discovered her love of acting at six-years-old, Jammal’s path to Hollywood has taken longer than she’d hoped as the budding actress opted to finish her academic studies before diving headfirst into scripts and screen tests. Yet, with her latest role opposite Hollywood heavyweight Liam Neeson in the thriller A Walk Among The Tombstones, scheduled for release this September, her career is affirmatively on the up-and-up.
The young brunette has also caught the attention of the fashion world, having been named the latest ingénue by Karl Lagerfeld. Now an ambassadress for Chanel, she is photographed sitting pretty in the front row. Anticipating her launch onto the big screen, we delve into her beauty secrets and film set survival kit.
How do you do your makeup for a film casting?
As an actress, you spend hours in the makeup chair. You can find yourself in 40-degree weather, dressed in winter clothes and wearing several layers of foundation and powder—it’s really hard to maintain good skin. I always take my own set of brushes along with me. For an audition, I prefer a more natural look, but of course, that means tinted moisturizer, concealer, a little kohl liner, and a coat of mascara.
Where do you derive your beauty inspiration?
I love to hark back to the old Hollywood stars like Audrey Hepburn, Betty Davis, and Grace Kelly. For modern day, I admire Lupita Nyong’o. She has an amazing, athletic body, and beautiful skin.
What is your off-duty beauty look?
On a normal day, I hardly put any makeup on my skin—I leave it to breathe. After my morning cleanse I use a little tinted moisturizer, I like the Chanel CC Cream.
