After Pat McGrath sent models down the Atelier Versace Fall 2016 runway rocking glitter-pressed lips, it was only a matter of time until sparkles started popping up on catwalks everywhere. Glitter stole the spotlight at the DKNY show in New York; at Fendi in Milan; and most recently, at the Maison Margiela show in Paris.
Models donned pale blue, sparkling lips dreamed up by Pat McGrath. Some had slicks of silver pigment in lieu of eyebrows, while others looked as though they’d traded setting spray for glitter. However, it was the dazzling eye makeup that ultimately stole the show. McGrath drew a line of metallic pigment from the inner corner of models’ eyes, and extended the sweep past their temples for an updated take on the classic flick. The look was finished with barely-there foundation and a swipe of clear gloss—for those who didn’t have pretty particles on their pouts, that is.
