Fendi’s furry, larger-than-life mascot duo has landed in London. FendiRumi, the storied Italian brand’s mascot couple, was last spotted sitting front row at the Fall 2016 ready-to-wear show during Milan Fashion Week. Now, the furry figures are in the British capital to celebrate the arrival of their miniature counterparts—the FendiRumi bag charms. As of today, the covetable fur accessories will be available at Fendi boutiques across the GCC and Harrods. The renowned London department store will host the world exclusive FendiRumi pop-up from today until the end of the month.
Bug-Kun, the blue, male mascot draws inspiration from Fendi’s popular Bag Bug charm, and features a yellow, double F crest. Meanwhile, the pink Piro-Chan—a new version of the bug-eyed QuTweet charm—features embellished yellow crystals for eyes. Both FendiRumi charms are crafted form mink and kidassia fur, with Bug-Kun featuring an added touch of fox fur.
The FendiRumi mascots were brought to life in November last year to celebrate Fendi’s 50th anniversary in Tokyo. The fluffy ambassadors pay homage to the ‘80s Japanese pop culture trend of Kigurumi (which translates to costumed performer) and are seen traveling the globe, attending in-store events, and now adding fashionable statements to handbags.
