With the release date of her next Hollywood movie, Challengers, right around the corner, Zendaya is a woman on a mission, flitting from one promotional outing to the next in a series of tennis-inspired looks that’s got everyone doing double takes.
After delighting sartorial fans with a shimmering green Loewe gown that emulated a sun-kissed tennis lawn, pistachio green Louis Vuitton looks, and of course, those tennis ball-spearing heels — styled with a sparkling silver number — Zendaya managed to top trending charts once again by donning two totally different looks in one night. To celebrate her film at the premiere in Los Angeles, Zendaya opted for an “unfinished” gown that championed innerwear as outerwear. Featuring an intricate black lace corset, voluminous pink skirt, and hints of ebony tulle, the actor’s Vera Wang gown painted a romantic, fairytale-like image that was quite unexpected given the sporty-meets-preppy looks she’s been stepping out in of late. Leaving her makeup minimal, the star allowed her gown to take centerstage with a simple bun and minimal jewelry.

At the Challengers premiere afterparty in LA this week, Zendaya continued her streak of sporty-meets-chic styling in a couture creation by Celia Kritharioti. Featuring a plunging halter neck and thigh-high slit in the front, the backless number — a far cry from the princess-like look she’d worn at the official premiere — featured a tennis ball at the waist, and was paired with classic white pointy-toed pumps to emulate the trademark color scheme associated with the sport.
